So you've never had cable - EVER?

"So you've never had cable - EVER?" That's what the cable guy said when he came to install cable at our house. I guess he didn't think there was anyone left like us! I'll bet he would really have been surprised had he been told that we hadn't had TV in our house in...probably about 15 years! We've rented some movies or shows, or seen some online recently, but we haven't even gotten ANY channels in years, and it's been a long time ago that we even got a couple of channels and they weren't all that clear. We've been at this house 19 years, and it was before we moved here that we even got the 3 local channels pretty well . So, I guess we've been in the TV dark ages around here! I guess it's just never been THAT important. During the school year we didn't normally have the TV on during the weekdays for most of the kids' growing up years, so this whole TV thing is going to be different. We'll see how it goes in this new adventure!

AAAAAHHHH! Sherita! I can't believe it. We have rabbit ears, and watch network shows. I wish we had food network and all...

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. I mean, I've barely had the TV on...it's just so not part of my day! Back in the days when we had more kids at home, if we got any TV shows/videos at all, we were very selective of when and how long, and the same with video games, so now I think I'm just in the mindset of being so careful with this whole TV thing! I tried to turn it on a couple of times when everyone was gone and I was at home folding laundry, but it took me awhile to figure out what was on and then I couldn't find anything I thought was worth watching! In general, we've "lightened up" a little with the whole entertainment stuff, but it still feels like new territory for us. The jury is still out on this experiment....

Oh, and Lisa, the food network sounds like it might be interesting...if I can figure out where to find it! And I thought Elise's animal shows sounded good. So, maybe Adam and Logan can give me a tutorial on the remotes and stuff and I can give it a try! :)

The Food Netwrok is my favorite. I love Paula Deen. I want to be her when I grow up...LOL. You will probably like all of them. Adrian, Adam, and Logan, will probably love Alton Brown. He does really indepth scientific analysis of foods. It is really interesting, you would love it too. I also like the national geographic. I had my mom record a special on gigantism and dwarfism that was really interesting.

I agree that food network is the best. I love it! I like Iron Chef, too. And throwdown with Bobby Flay. Some of my game show addiction coming through. :) Paula Deen is great. She cooks real things that I would be able to buy ingredients for and enjoy eating once I fixed. She made this butterscotch dipping sauce one time that just looked heavenly. I think I'll go look up that recipe....
