Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. Kristen, Cory, and family came in on Wednesday night. Adam had a friend over on Wednesday, too, so we had a house full. On Thursday we went over to Grandma Jarrell's house (Adrian, Sherita, Adam, Logan, Kristen, Cory, Elise, Ian, and Grandma Delia) for dinner. Kristen and I fixed broccoli casserole, garlic green beans, cheesy potatoes, and Kristen fixed hot corn and a couple of pumpkin pies, while Adrian provided the bread and Grandma Delia had made her famous sweet potato casserole. Adrian's sister Trula and husband, Bill were there from Georgia and Adrian's other sister Verna from Chapel Hill. They did turkey, potatoes, gravy, desserts, etc. and we had a nice meal together and visited around the table. Some of also took a walk down to the river. I remember another Thanksgiving when Adrian's brother Maury came in from Texas and we all went to the river and Adrain and Maury told stories about growing up by the river and all the fun they had. We missed Ethan at Thanksgiving, but he had a nice time going to Beth's sister's house in Salt Lake. He's actually had some snow out there and I'm jealous! Wish we could get a little snow out here before too long! We look forward to having Ethan and everyone home for Christmas! That's going to be a lot of fun!

Elise gives her Daddy some kisses.

Adam is showing us the window he broke while pitching against the back wall of our house.

Logan is a great tree climber!

What a nice bonfire in the back yard!

Cory and Elise sit on the deck and look on as Ian gives Junior some sugar.

Elise at her house playing with the nativity that Papa made.

Ian likes to be outside! "Outside," he says. The kids built a toasty fire for us to enjoy on a crisp fall day. We drank hot chocolate, pitched ball, looked at the chickens, and played on the swings.

Logan rests during the Thanksgiving holiday and so do Elise and Milo.

Adrian and Ian at Grandma Jarrell's house. Some of us walked down to the river after Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma J's. Ian held Papa's hand and threw rocks from the bridge into the river.

More fun on the trampoline at Kristen's

Elise and Ian liked being outside on the trampoline with Adam and Logan.

We had a nice visit with Kristen, Cory and family over the weekend. Adam and Logan had a youth temple trip on Saturday, and Adrian went over to help, too, so that was a nice benefit as well. Posted by Picasa

The guys really did have a lot of fun at Kristen's!

Look how high we can go!

Adrian, Logan, and Adam had a lot of fun on Kristen's trampoline last weekend!

One of the cakes at the soccer team banquet. By the way, I forgot to put on that other picture that those are the five senior players on the team.

We went to the soccer banquet and Adam got lots of recognition. The coach said some really nice things about Adam. He was reconized as one of the seniors and as the captain of the soccer team and he got to make the presentation to the coach. The coaches gave out awards and Adam recieved the MVP award. That is pretty much the top honor. Adam definately contributed to the team, not only in soccer skills, but also as an example in his work ethic - always giving his best - and also as a leader. I think he also contributed to the team as someone who could relate to all the team members and treated everyone as a friend. I think this helped the team come together in a positive way and made them work better together, more unified. Adam always make us proud and we love him for the wonderful young man he is.

Wake Forest Soccer Game

We went to see Wake play Virginia last night. It was a lot of fun and a great game, even though we lost in overtime. The weather was nice, the action exciting, etc. Just a fun family night together at WFU! Go Wake!

Soocer Again

This was from the last game fo the season. I thought it was a good shot of Adam and a defender both going for the ball. Posted by Picasa
