I loved Cory's humble comment! :) I suspected he was going to be the one to beat! And, sadly, I'm pretty much where I thought I'd be! :) Unless something really great happens with my choices, it looks like that "day of cleaning" prize is going to be out of my grasp! We're having a lot of fun, too!

Chicken Saga

Sad news on the chickens. Sunday morning the dogs got to the chickens and they are all gone except for Princess and one of the new Auracona chicks. Very sad. Adrian, Adam, and Logan reinforced the pen and are working on other improvements.

We’re not sure what to name the new little chick, but if you’d like to express your opinion, here is what has been suggested:

New Curtains

I just had to post the new curtains that Kristen made for me! Aren't they beautiful?! Kristen was so thoughtful to make them for me, and I love them - and her for making them!

I love this picture! The expressions are just too cute! Ian was laughing and Elise was making a face...a lot of fun. I had fun taking pictures of my cute, little tarheel fans! Ian loves his blue tarheel shirt and Elise is so supportive of her team. We're still hoping to give them some balance in their lives with some Wake Forest shirts. :)

Church Humor

I was thinking the other night about funny things that had happened in church. I don’t know what started this train of thought, but here goes...

Experience #1: I remember the time that I made those necklaces out of sea shells for camp and I had one at church. I remember looking down the row and seeing one of the kids, maybe Logan, whoever it was, was probably about 4 or 5, and he was twirling it around the end of either a pencil or his finger, slinging it around and around and around. I could see it coming, but he was several people out of reach, and before I could stop it from happening, I saw the necklace take flight, going into orbit across the chapel.

Experience #2: I remember reading a while back, about pipe cleaners being a nice, quiet toy to take to church. It sounded good in theory, entertaining and silent. I thought I’d surprise everyone one Sunday and take a brand new bag of pipe cleaners to church for the grandkids and Adam and Logan to enjoy together. I was horrified as the meeting unfolded and it looked like craft central gone bad, with Adam and Logan making firearms out of pipe cleaners.

Experience #3: I got tickled one Sunday, too, as we seemed to get faster and faster on a song until I thought we were going to reach warp speed in a few short verses.

Gum Stain or Art?

I know I’m no artist, but surely I could tell the difference between the art and the gum stain…you’d think. Below is the link to the CNN article I read yesterday about the 12-yr. old who damaged a painting in a museum when he tried to stick gum to the canvas. When I saw the graphic posted on the CNN site, I wasn’t sure what I was looking at… was this the gum stain or was it the painting? Well, it turns out that it was the painting, an abstract, called “The Bay”, but it you look at it just right, well….
