So, how would you like to hear this out your window at night as you gaze up into the deep, dark woods?! This is county living at it's best! :) This bird calls out, it seems to me, mostly at night, in the early evening, dusk, and again at dawn. I don't know what it is, but it sure makes itself heard!
yes, mother, I'm sure this bird is out to get YOU. That's probably the oddest video I've ever seen. But yeah, the sound that bird makes is odd as well. very distinct
I have another one I can post, too! And no, I don't think the bird is out to get me, but it's just such an odd cry! When we have the windows open, it sounds like someone yelling out in the woods. I remember when we first moved up here, there was a similar bird sound we'd hear up in the woods at night. This bird's cry is... distinctive, to say the least. We don't know what it is, but it's loud...and a little eerie, not spooky, just, well, unusual.

I was glad you posted that first comment, otherwise I might have thought this video was a cry for help. ;) Too much 24, I guess.
