ooohhh, i love the chickens! are they going to be around long enough to name?
The only good chicken is a fried chicken!
Adrian sees them more like a "crop" but I think they're pets. The eggs are fine, but there will be NO fried chicken!
And I do hope these will be here long enough to name! So far our track record is not so great, but I think the new, reinforced, high security, pen should help...unless the chickens start organizing (...Chicken Run). Princess is doing well and comes right over to eat out of Adrian's hand. She's a really nice chicken and I think she deserves a break - especially since she made it though two dog attacks. The other chickens seem to be settling in. The Polish chicken is having a hard time, though. If Elise has any name ideas, please pass them along!
here are some of elise's & my ideas.... we like "cracker jack" for one of the roosters, for some of the hens we like, chicken little, big red, henny penny, chicklet, dilly dally, fancy, mellie, & ticky.
Nice names! Adrian has been calling the little chicken (who is now big) from that bunch that only made it one day before the dogs, well, you know... she was the only one who made it... he's been calling her Chicken Little. Logan and I have been calling one of the roosters Weathervane because he looks like the traditionally colored chickens that are on the weathervanes on top of barns. Maybe Logan and I can go out there and see if some of those other ones "fit" on some of the chickens. Elise, and Kristen, thanks for the nice name suggestions!
