Butterfly

I think it's really neat to see a tree with lots of blossoms and butterflies. We used to have a tree between our house and Grandma Hiatt's that I called the "Butterfly Tree" because it always had so many butterflies around it in the summer time. The hummingbirds liked it, too. It was a very unusual tree that I think Grandma got either in another state (Florida ?) or on the mountain - not sure, but it seemed there was some special story about where it came from. It had pink flowers and blue berries. As a child I would crush the blue berries to make "ink". Another thing I remember was that the leaves had a distinctive smell, really sweet. The tree in the photo is not that tree, but seeing the butteflies on it made me think of Grandma's Butterfly Tree. Posted by Picasa

We do, but I don't think it has flowers and all on it yet. I had a lot of fun making those pictures with my very cool camera!

I just looked out the window to see if I could see the tree and I couldn't, but then I did a double take...you know how you just think something catches your eye or didn't look just right...well, I looked again, and sure enough, Spot was stretched out in one of those reclining chairs on the deck. It was a funny-looking sight because she was actually in the correct position for a person lounging in the chair - only she's a dog! Funny!
